- Flash floods: never enter a Hajar wadi when rain is forecast anywhere in its catchment, even under a clear sky where you are standing. Water arrives fast and the way out is usually the way the water is coming.
- Pools are deep, cold and edged with slippery rock. Wear shoes you can swim in and keep valuables in a dry bag.
